Gyalwang Karmapa
I met Gyalwang Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorjee in October 2001 when he was a youngster, just escaped out of Tibet and made a home in a small monastery near Dharamsala.
He was uncomfortable with English and was still adapting to new life in India.
Fast forward 12 years and Karmapa is being raised as a potential successor to H. H. the Dalai Lama. He was also caught in an raid last year for hoarding Chinese currency at his monastery, for which he was later cleared of all charges.
He seems like a good fit as the successor to H.H. the Dalai Lama.
