The Hindus- an Alternative History- Hindu Bashing All the Way!

Religious meanings should not be distorted. It is considered blasphemous and hurts the sentiments of its followers.

Speaking about Hindu religion, Wendy Doniger of University of Chicago did just that and has hurt some Hindu followers by writing the book  "The Hindus - An Alternative
History." She has written numerous books on Hinduism.

The book was banned but online sales were still permitted. It was pulped by Penguin Publishers following the controversy over the content.

Although Doniger claims that the court banned book plays as a catalyst for shining light on India’s current political climate, she bashes right wing Hinduism or Hindutva in it.

According to the Chicago Tribune, In response to this new book being called “filthy and dirty” Doniger coolly replies, “Readers who bought a copy in hope of finding such passages will be, I fear, disappointed. “The Hindus” isn’t about sex at all. It’s about religion, which is much hotter than sex.”

The Times of India stated that Dina Nath Batra, who had led the charge against Doniger's previous book, said that the contents of "On Hinduism" were, like the previous work, "malicious and offending".
