Racist attacks against Hindus

Racism against Hindus in Seattle, Washington

It's long past the time  of Rosa Parks -about 60 years-- ever since Parks maintained her rights and  refused to give up the seat on the bus to a white passenger on Dec. 1, 1955. She was sitting in the seat reserved for blacks and since all of them had filled up, four passenger including Parks were asked to vacate the seat just behind the white section of the bus. Surprisingly,  even today,  racism shows its ugly face.

In this day and age, a  racist attacks against Hinduism, a peaceful religion, is really degrading and insulting to  hear. There have been recent spate of attacks on them.

On Feb. 15, an Indian store owner was  shot and killed in New Jersey.

Just  yesterday (Feb. 28, 2015))  a Sanatan Dharam temple was attacked in Washington and many Christian leaders have criticized Hinduism. Temples in Georgia  (August 2014)and Virginia (July-October 2014) have been desecrated.

Ironically Patriots quarterback Tom Brady worships Lord Ganesha, and President Obama worships Lard Hanuman. Obama also carries a small booklet of Hindu scriptures Bhagwad Gita. After all, who is an American? Duh..   There is a very minute demarcation. Indian food, culture , and religion - they swear by yoga and meditation as it is revered all over the world, especially in North America and the United Kingdom. They go to find peace of mind and happiness to India and to the Himalayas.

Many Americans embrace Hindu or Indian culture and in fact, some of them  are more Hindu (Indian) than the Hindus living abroad in United States and other countries. I was surprised to see and experience it myself.
