Ignorance Is detrimental

Chelsea Handler, had no idea about India, when she said that most Indians don't know how to speak English- given that there are so many languages and dialects in India. Maybe, she does not know that India was once a British colony.

This all points to ignorance about India and is a form of stereotyoing and racism. And these people are also immigrants, who came here from other countries for a better life and more opportunities. They travel to India many times and make such comments. They are, in fact, more Indian than some Indians.

Same goes for Kim Kardashian, who commented before her visit to India that she hates Indian food as Indian food also always consists of the flavoring of cilantro . Kardashian  is ignorant or misinformed that Indian cuisine uses various condiments  and herbs to perfect itself and win  tastebuds. For instance,  South Indian cooking uses vast amounts of curry leaves for cooking and sometimes, neem, and other leaves too. These women have got all the facts wrong. They indulge in India bashing due to their ignorance.

As George Bernard Shaw rightly said, "Beware of false knowledge; it is more dangerous than ignorance."
